GIULIANO DAL MOLIN

Giuliano Dal Molin was born in Schio in 1960 and currently lives and works in San Vito di Leguzzano, in the area of Vicenza. The turning point in his artistic work takes place at the end of the eighties, when he choses the way of abstractism, passing from the realization of works composed of raw materials, such as certain metals, powders or pure pigments, to essential geometric shapes, concave and convex, almost devoid of color, reduced to a “trace of the gesture of painting”,  in such a way as to create a perfect synergy between pictorial and sculptural work. In his research the direct and manual execution always contributes to the final project, thus becoming an essential part of each artwork. In 1984, 1989 and 1991 Dal Molin participates to a collective at the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa in Venice. The following year he exhibited in a solo show at the same Foundation, and in 1993 takes part in the 55th Biennale di Venezia. Major solo, however, are Opere recenti at the Fuxa Gallery in 1990 in Verona and Giuliano Dal Molin at Lara and Rino Costa Gallery in Valencia in 2010. Since 1997 his artistic production consists of works that invade the space that surrounds them, leaning against the wall or floor, or being suspended from the wall. His works, therefore, embrace the third dimension of art, architecture, and involve again strongly the color, in constant dialogue with vertical and horizontal planes, curved surfaces built in height and depth.
